You know that you are living far off the beaten track when the postman won't come to your door(or gate) but leaves your mail in your own personal mail box at the side of the road.

 Scarborough winery was our favourite - we bought a few bottles !

Hunter Valley Wineries by bike at 41'C !!

  Cycling was great but at 41'C it was very hot work

After Christmas we drove to the beautiful Hunter Valley Wine region and a very rural retreat !

 Beautiful but we did have a lizard in the sink and red back spiders in the wood pile - take care where you put your feet there are snakes about !

the beach house is just metres from the lovely Blacksmiths beach and just five minutes from Lake Macquarie

Christmas day was a lovely extended family affair catching up with old friends and meeting new.

and the guys enjoy a beer or two with the BBQ

A great opportunity to spend more time with Laura and Tim at the Royal National Park

A great day out was to the Royal National Park. We got to the Wattamolla falls/beach area which was really beautiful. We even got to swim in a rock pool. Met this little critter en route!
