A real pea souper on the Helford

Image
After a very wet sail from Fowey we awoke to a real pea souper. We won't be going anywhere for a while .

Overnight in Mayflower Plymouth. Expensive but a good opportunity to top up everything !

Back to Mayflower Marina again. Quite pricey at £42.60 / night but a good spot to pick up Sian and Andrew Moore for a few days sailing. Making good use of wifi to download lots of iPlayer stuff to watch whilst we are away. Also a good opportunity to clean the boat and to give the batteries a good soak charge. It's been more than a month since we have been on shore power and they need a boost !

Our last day in Salcombe is a memorable one..

O ur last day in Salcombe was a memorable one. Clear blue skies and warm weather was the perfect setting to go up to Salcombe Yacht Club, enjoy their excellent barbecue(and a pint of Doombar) and then settle down to watch the start of the Salcombe Yawls second race of the day. It's a very competitive fleet and cries of "starboard" and "water " rang across the estuary.  The other side of the coin is that Salcombe is a hugely popular place(for good reason) and the dinghy park is a thing to behold !

Back to Salcombe for the start of our Summer Cruising

A real bonus today in that Salcombe was warm and unexpectedly sunny. A great way to start our summer cruising. Let’s hope the weather gods keep smiling for the next few weeks.
